Born and raised on the prairies of Saskatchewan, I developed a passion for visual art as a teenager. I came to Vancouver in the mid-90s in pursuit of that passion, and I’ve spent the last couple of decades exploring the city and searching for unconventional charm in unexpected places.
Creative portraiture holds the strongest appeal for me. I strive to create character images with feeling and depth, and to communicate emotion through striking, unlikely subjects.
My work is a collaboration between found beauty and conceptualized imagery. My inspirations are dark, but peaceful. A sort of introverted melancholy. I am drawn to the peculiar, the curious, the unusual… I strive to capture and present my subjects in unique ways that reflect my view of the world around me.
